Arrest made in Trinamool leader's murder case, search for 7 suspects ongoing

Khalik Mandal, one of the accused in the murder case of Trinamool Congress leader Amod Ali Vishwas, has been arrested by police in Haskhali, Nadia district. 

An FIR has been filed against eight people in connection with the case, and a search is underway for the remaining seven suspects.

On Friday, Trinamool Congress Mandal President Amod Ali Vishwas was shot and killed at a tea shop in the market, in what appears to be a premeditated attack. 

The district police launched a massive night-long operation to track down the attackers, which led to the arrest of Khalik Mandal, one of the named suspects, from near his residence in Ramnagar Baro Chupadia village of Haskhali, Nadia district. He has been remanded to police custody following a court appearance.

Amod Ali Vishwas, who had a history of criminal activity, had recently been released from prison only a week prior to the attack. The motive behind the murder is not yet clear, and the investigation into the case is ongoing.

The incident has caused widespread outrage and has been condemned by political leaders across party lines. The state government has promised swift action and justice for the victim's family.
